Located on Leacock Drive among meandering paths through parklands, Christ Risen Lutheran Church is nestled in the historic residential neighbourhood of Beaverbrook, in the sprawling community of Kanata, Ontario. As a member congregation of Lutheran Church–Canada, our purpose is to connect God’s people in love with Jesus Christ as the Shepherd of our flock.

Because our Lord’s ‘Law and Gospel’ flows out of a Word and Sacrament Ministry, Christ Risen is authentically Lutheran and distinctly Christian. And as such, under the theme of Grace, our church welcomes all families! No matter whether the family make-up is traditional or non-traditional, we endeavor to speak to all people regardless of their ethnic background, and we seek to provide a “comfortable pew” for all people irrespective of their economic relationship to our community.

Someone once described the church as being comprised of Saints and Sinners! We are all Saints and Sinners. Every one of us at Christ Risen stumbles and falls. And yet, our Lord lifts us up in love. God’s love is not conditional, but unconditional! We grow in Christ because His love enables us to be a community of “human beings” and not “human doings!” Before His Cross, each one of us can come just as we are and, in love, truly experience His “Amazing Grace!”

As Kanata is a “village of villages” so also are all of God’s people a village of villages. We desire that our ministry is responsive to your needs, and we pray that, together, we may grow in Christ.
