Welcome to Christ Risen Lutheran Church! Divine Service is every Sunday @ 10:30 am. We are a confessional Lutheran congregation serving our community in Kanata, Ottawa’s West End. We believe the Bible is the Word of God. We confess The Three Ecumenical Creeds: The Apostles’ Creed, Nicene Creed, and Athanasian Creed. We subscribe to the Book of Concord (1580). We are a member congregation of Lutheran Church—Canada. If you are visiting from a sister congregation and wish to receive communion, we ask that you kindly reach out beforehand to speak with our pastor. Guests may come for a blessing. For our first time visitors, our worship service follows an order of service laid out in our hymnal, the Lutheran Service Book. All are welcome.

What’s new at Christ Risen Lutheran Church

Bible study on Sunday mornings at 9:30 am will continue until June 22nd with selected books of the Minor Prophets being the subject of study. Anyone interested in attending a mid-week Bible study in the autumn is asked to contact Pastor Lam.

On this day …

The Church commemorates Justin, Martyr on June 1st. The LCMS document of Commemoration Biographies describes Justin as follows: Born at the beginning of the second century, Justin was raised in a pagan family. He was student of philosophy who converted to the Christian faith and became a teacher in Ephesus and Rome. After refusing to make pagan sacrifices, he was arrested, tried and executed, along with six other believers. The official Roman court proceedings of his trial before Rusticius, a Roman prelate, document his confession of faith. The account of his martyrdom became a source of great encouragement to the early Christian community. Much of what we know of early liturgical practice comes from Justin.
